Garry Smith's exhibition Safe Base Charlie in the Incubate Gallery explores local indigenous and introduced bird life along the Georges River and their survival from urban, military and suburban encroachment using camouflage.

Living along the Georges River at Picnic Point in the 70s, 80s and 90s Smith has fond memories of vibrating windows, crooked picture frames and birds taking flight due to the army range at the nearby Holsworthy Barracks.
