What is the Men’s Shed?

Men’s Shed aims to improve the health and wellbeing of men by creating safe spaces where they can connect with other men to share skills, develop practical capabilities and engage in meaningful activities. You can come and build, repair, learn or just socialise in a friendly environment!

The Shed is a well-equipped workshop for:

  • Woodworking
  • Metal work
  • Painting
  • Gardening

Do I need trade experience?

Definitely not! We encourage members from all industries and backgrounds. We appreciate and value the varied backgrounds, skills, and knowledge of our members. Plus, many of our members are happy to share their knowledge and experience to help other members.

Is there training provided?

Yes, your wellbeing and safety is very important to us. Training with all tools and machinery is required before use.

Do I need to be over 50 to join?

If you're 18 or older, we'd love to have you as a member. We know that many of our members are in retirement and love being able to spend their days at the Shed, and that's great! But we also love to see young people taking an interest in our community.

What activities are at the Shed?

  • Members make toys and craft items to sell to support the Shed
  • Many commercial projects which provide ongoing funding for the Shed
  • Garden enthusiasts can tap into their green thumb with our large garden beds
  • A range of school holiday activities
  • Information sessions on men’s health and lifestyle
  • Fundraising activities
  • Morning tea and lunch information swaps
