The City of Canterbury Bankstown is offering a rebate of up to $500 to residents for installing solar photovoltaic (solar PV) on residential properties in Canterbury-Bankstown. This initiative is part of Council’s target to increase rooftop solar on single unit dwellings to 50% by 2036. Almost 18,000 solar PV systems have already been installed in our City.
Please view the Solar Rebate Program Guidelines before completing application.
Review the eligibility criteria for your current solar PV quote or before seeking a solar PV quote. All eligibility criteria and approval criteria must be met in order to be pre-approved for a Solar Rebate.
Fill out the Stage 1 application form. If the eligibility criteria has been met, you will receive a confirmation email. You will have 3 months to provide evidence of the purchase and installation of your system before being paid the rebate amount in full.
Stage 1 application form
If your Stage 1 application form has been approved, Council will confirm this with you via email. Once the solar PV system has been purchased and installed on the property in the given time period, you will need to complete a final form (Stage 2 application form) that also provide evidence of the installation. Council will provide the Stage 2 application form for you to complete.
This form must include photos (JPEG or PNG file format), invoices, and a nominated bank account for payment upon the application approval.
If the Stage 2 application form is approved, you will receive the rebate amount in full via electronic bank transfer. Be sure to check your junk mailbox for your rebate approval email. The rebate is available until funding has been exhausted. For any queries contact Councils Sustainability Officer at sustainability@cbcity.nsw.gov.au or 9707 9000.
