​Bankstown Bites has always been one of the most popular food festivals in NSW and now it’s back, bigger and better than ever!  If you’re in the mood for a tantalising variety of food representing the diverse culture of Bankstown, you’re in for a treat. There’ll also be a range of great entertainment for all ages.

Spoil yourself with fine cuisine from a huge variety of food stalls; Filipino, Indian, Turkish, Asian, Japanese, Mexican, Spanish, Portuguese, Egyptian, Italian and Thai…just to name a few! 
The fun begins on Saturday 30 July, from 10am-5pm, showcasing the best of Bankstown’s food and unique culture. There’ll be 24 food stalls and plenty of action on Olympic Parade and Griffith Park. There’ll also be a range of fabulous activities at the Bankstown Arts Centre (between 10-4pm) 
If you’ve ever wanted to acquire new cooking skills, here’s your chance! Celebrity chef Adrian Richardson from Good Chef Bad Chef, along with MasterChef “fans and favourites” contestant Alvin Quah will be teaching you how to dazzle in the kitchen
Adrian and Alvin will also be holding a “meet and greet” so fans can ask them any cooking questions!  
Alvin says he’s excited to be in Bankstown, which he sees as one of the most important places in Australia when it comes to food. He’s looking forward to showing people how to create their own “signature dish” such as new twist on Sang Choi Bao.
“Everyone needs a signature dish and my motto is to always make the dish accessible and easy to replicate. I try to create dishes that everyone can relate to and Sang Choi Bao is simply a lettuce wrap which is versatile and delicious. It doesn’t need to be complex; it just needs to taste good,” Alvin says.
Alvin says he hopes he can be a role model for up-and-coming chefs.
“MasterChef has done so much for people who want to cook and, whether they want to pursue a career or not, cooking is a survival skill. And, life is too short to eat bad food!”  
There’s so much to do this weekend; take a long lunch in the surrounds of our vibrant City, taste-test from the food stalls, treat yourself to a drink at the Lady Banks Rooftop Bar Cart and enjoy some of the roving entertainment. We’ll have the Singing Chefs, free face painting for kids, carnival rides, as well as “kids in the kitchen” activities for the youngsters. 
Book into a food tour which will take you into some of our city’s most unique eateries, with a huge variety of delicious food to taste: including the popular La Moosh Bakery Café, and Café Nho and Yum Yum Lebanese Pizza.
Other activities include the BBQ cooking school, Bankstown Arts Centre Open Day, performances by TAP (Talent Advancement Program) students, 15 Stars, Antoine Duo, food tours of Bankstown, and much more! 
Canterbury-Bankstown Mayor Khal Asfour says he’s looking forward to seeing everyone enjoy Bankstown Bites and support local businesses.
“I’m looking forward to welcoming thousands of festival-goers to Bankstown Bites – it’s always been a special event on the food lover’s calendar, and we promise to show festival-goers a special range of cuisines, along with a party atmosphere,” Mayor Asfour says.
“It all begins at 10am on Saturday 30 July, so come along and see everything that’s so great about our city. See you there!”
