If you’ve ever wanted to teach your dog new tricks, then you may be able to learn a few secrets from one of Australia’s leading experts, at the Pet’s Day Out, this Saturday (19 October).

Dr Katrina Warren and the Wonderdogs will be special guests at Vale of Ah Reserve, Milperra (10am-2pm). The veterinarian and media personality is known for her work on TV shows, such as Totally Wild and Harry’s Practice, and travels the country with a group of some of the most intelligent and well-trained Border Collies.

“I am looking forward to being part of an exciting event,” she said.

“I love events that celebrate the bond we have with our pets and acknowledge how important they are in our lives.

“I’m particularly looking forward to meeting dogs of all shapes and sizes, and their owners too!

“If you come along, you can expect to be entertained and inspired by the amazing Wonderdogs.

“These smart Border Collies appeal to all ages and will show-off their repertoire of amazing tricks, and everyone will have the opportunity to meet them and take photos too.

“It will be a fun community day for pet lovers to be entertained, shop at some great stalls and spoil their four-legged friends.”

Pets Day Out is a family-friendly event which will offer something for all ages, including:

  • Activities for kids;
  • A variety of stalls;
  • Free microchipping;
  • Demonstrations; and
  • An adoption zone, where families can provide a new forever home for a cat or dog.

Mayor Asfour encouraged residents to bring their pet along to the event.

“And for those who don’t have a pet, I encourage you to adopt one from our animal shelter,” he said.

“During 23018, we found new homes for 133 dogs and 22 cats and I am sure we can find more on Saturday.”
