Spice up your life with a Bankstown Bites food tour

Spice up your life with a Bankstown Bites food tour Eat till you drop! Yes Eat till you drop!
Food Tour

Eat till you drop! Korean fried chicken, Malaysian and Thai roti with curry sauce, Vietnamese banh mi and Peking duck are just some of the dishes you can sample on an exclusive tasting tour.

Twenty-five restaurants have thrown open their doors, as part of the Bankstown Bites Food Tours on Saturday 29 July.

This year’s line-up of immersive tasting tours, brought to you by Time Out, features 13 new businesses and more than 60 exotic dishes.

One of the businesses that will be joining the Bites Food Tours for the first time will be Huong Xua Vietnamese Restaurant.

James Tran has been running Huong Xua since it opened in Bankstown in 2021, and has been looking for a chance to get involved with events in the local community since.

“I think Bankstown Bites is great, the whole community is getting together and jumping on the bandwagon so it’s a great thing that Council’s organised this year. I’m happy and excited to be a part of it,” he said.

James’ restaurant will be serving up spring rolls, their famous beef noodle soup and pork chops on the “Sensational Flavours” tour this year, which also features tastes from Lil Hideout Cafe and Oriental Herbal Tea.

“The beef is stir-fried with garlic and Chinese celery, before we put it onto the noodles then we add soup on top,” Mr Tran said.

“I believe only my family do it this way in Australia… It is more work, but it brings out more flavour and aroma as well.”

There are 16 different tasting tours available to help make this year’s Bankstown Bites food festival the most delicious ever.

Other highlights of the festival include dozens of food stalls, live entertainment, a cake decorating competition and cooking demonstrations by Diana Chan, television host, cook and winner of MasterChef 2017 and fan favourites Arrnott and Fuzz from My Kitchen Rules 2022.

There will also be free face painting, “kids in the kitchen” activities for youngsters, roving entertainers, and much more!

Food Tours often sell out before the event, so booking early is recommended. A limited number of tickets will be available to purchase on the day (via EFTPOS only). To book, visit cb.city/BankstownBites
