If it’s one event not to be missed this Christmas, it’s the Carols in the Park on Sunday 10 December at Wiley Park Amphitheatre, from 6.30pm.

The night will be a fun-filled event, including:

  • Face painting by elves;
  • Roving puppets;
  • Santa’s Wizard of Oz Christmas Show;
  • Christmas songs performed by members of the Canterbury-Bankstown Talent Advancement Program; and
  • Carols sung by the Campsie Salvation Army Band.

In addition, visitors will be treated to a spectacular show by 2017 The Voice finalist, Fasika Ayallew.

"I’ll be singing some of my favourite soul and R&B tracks from the 80s to now, as well as some of the songs I performed on The Voice, and of course a Christmas song," Ayallew said.

Ayallew said she was looking forward to visiting Canterbury-Bankstown.

"I love the Canterbury- Bankstown area because it's such a diverse part of Sydney which makes me super excited to perform for the crowd on the night," she said.

Mayor, Khal Asfour, said Wiley Park was the place to be this Christmas.

"The community will be entranced when they see thousands of LED operated candles lighting up Wiley Park," Mayor Asfour said.

"There might not be snow or reindeers, but there’s still nothing quite like celebrating Christmas in our City.

"Our event is about the community celebrating the Festive Season and enjoying this special time of year together with family and friends.

"To cap off the Christmas spectacular, Council will treat the community to a dazzling 12-minute fireworks display."
