Juxta Callout for Video and Audio Artists

Juxta Artist Call Out.png

Bankstown Arts Centre is seeking local artists to be part of Juxta Jam, a live, interactive club-style, DJ/VJ-led event, where audiences discover how art reflects and stimulates emotions.
We are commissioning 10 South Western Sydney artists (under 35 years), to create a 2-minute, original video or sound work responding to the theme of FIRE.

Your submission should include:
  • A short 150-word bio
  • An example of previous work
  • A short description (200 words) of your initial 2-minute idea
The fee for the creation of a two minute work is $600

For more information and all submissions, please email juxta2020@gmail.com
Deadline for submissions is Friday 1 October, 5pm.

What is Juxta?

Juxta Jam is a live development of original online Juxta, which featured 24 artists who each created a two-minute sound or video work in response to the theme of WATER. The content and style of their work was driven by their individual visions, each telling its own story.

Juxta is easy to play. Choose a sound file. Choose a video work. Hit play and watch what happens. Play now at

Incubate Artist Studios

The Incubate Artists Studios are located on the site of the former Bankstown Women’s Rest Centre, a place that drew together women – particularly mothers – from the many local communities in the Canterbury-Bankstown area. We invite artists from the Canterbury Bankstown region and beyond to use these spaces to create.

If you'd like to use Incubate Artist Studios, please contact artscentre@cbcity.nsw.gov.au with a brief proposal and link to your previous work.
